Daniel Dunkley

Daniel Dunkley is a freelance musician for animation and advertising, based under his new brand ‘Dunkley Tillett Music’. He is classically trained in guitar, piano and music theory. His great uncle Jeffery Tillett who introduced him to the world of music from a very young age founded his passion for music.

Upon completing his secondary education at Derby Grammar School in 2011, Daniel went on to study Music Technology at Leeds Beckett University. Daniel then chose to also complete a Secondary Music PGCE at Nottingham Trent University to further himself, before teaching at Bemrose School and St. Benedict's Catholic Academy.

Whilst studying he gained experience by working in many strands of the music industry, working as a technical supervisor for Festival republic. Daniel also had the opportunity to work as a lead recording engineer for Rhinegold Live, recording Julian Lloyd Webber and Andrew Litton. He worked as stage hands for established artists. He was also a resident DJ at a Leeds-based club ‘The Warehouse’, and by the time it came to his final year at university, he specialised in music for moving image, working on 4 music for animation projects with the Northern Film School.

After graduation from Leeds Beckett University, Daniel worked with a Channel 4 based brand named ‘Mashed’ - creating music for various animations.

During his Secondary Music PGCE, Daniel had multiple record label releases with the ‘Glitch Hop Community’, ‘EDM.com’ and ‘Panache records’.

Currently, Daniel now works as a freelancer, as the musician and sound designer for an animation series ‘Vampire Pixel’ working with animator ‘Kreid’. He has moved towards making bespoke music for advertising,  working with a newly-formed licensing company ‘Music X Film’.
